Release Note: Schedule View multi-select
Release Date: Jun 08, 2020
Tired of having to adjust one item/task at a time in Schedule View? Well, do we have some great news for you: we’ve just implemented multi-select in Schedule View to save time and make your life easier!
You’re able to use either the SHIFT key or CTRL (Command on Macs) to select multiple things at once. Clicking on one item or task will display a yellow background, indicating it has been selected. Holding SHIFT allows you to select a group of files that are contiguous (i.e. next to each other) by holding Shift and clicking the last file. All the files in between are then selected. See the example below with Batch A, Task A1, Task A2, Task A3, and Task A4 selected.
Alternatively, CTRL allows users to click and select multiple items/tasks that are anywhere in Schedule View, not necessarily next to each other. See example below with Batch A, Task A3, and Task A4 selected.
Once you’ve selected what you’d like to move, simply drag-and-drop to the desired position. With just two clicks, we’ve adjusted all items and tasks displayed below a few days to the right. Viola!
This feature improves a business’s agility. Specifically, when adapting to schedule changes that affect many items and tasks.
Need to gauge whether or not you can say yes to a high-margin rush order that impacts your current schedule? Quickly move things around to see if you have the capacity and to forecast potential impacts. Have a machine that breaks down unexpectedly? Quickly readjust the schedule to accommodate the workarounds.
Easier planning and improved adaptation = greater agility. And agility is the name of the game in today’s business landscape.
